DESCRIPTION: |
Working caregivers makes up 1 in 6 Americans working and caring for an elderly or disabled family member, relative or friend. 70% of working caregivers suffer work-related difficulties due to their dual roles. Caregiving has shown to reduce employee work productivity by 18.8% and increase the likelihood of employees leaving the workplace. Best practices for employers is providing education and training for supervisors and offering support, resources and referral services for working caregivers. |
